This week’s Lidl special offers include enough sweets to turn a stone diabetic but we won’t linger on those, they’re cheap, chewy and retro. There. Done.
Onto more important things. Like alcohol. Little bottles of alcohol to be precise. Now the’re not going to be winning any taste awards any time soon, but these are great if you fancy a glass of red with your Desperate Housewives on Tuesday but don’t want the three quarters-full bottle catching flies on your worktop until Saturday, when it’s #winetime again. Good news is they’re reduced to €1 (44% off) in Lidl, so buying a couple of bottles this weekend will be in order.
I’ll also be definitely availing of the Saturday Special on Salmon (howdya like that for alliteration!), which is €1.94 for two frozen fillets, or 250g. The last time I saw this offer was during the summer, so I nipped in at oh, 9:20am or so, only to find it almost 
sold out. Happily, this time the offer is for Sunday as well as Saturday, recoined ‘Weekend Specials’. Works for me!
Also floating my boat are half price mushrooms (mushroom soup for supper methinks), 99c grapefruits (yuck, but the boyfriend loves them) and €2 Extra Virgin Olive Oil.
Yes, it’s a short list this week, but did I mention there are sweets? Lots.
